In 1968 the opening scenes of a low budget black and white horror film were shot in Evans City Cemetery, 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh. A film which has since become a modern classic and which can be argued to have influenced every horror film since. Its title was Night of the Living Dead. Its director, cinematographer, editor and co-author was George Romero.

I was dreading the first time i saw NOTLD i hate watching movies in black and white but when i saw it the music and everything scared the crap outta me! IT WAS GREAT!!! its a shame that people dont watch the movie because its in black and white! because it's a Brilliant film the Tom Savini Doesnt do it justice.

Night of the Living Dead was a ground breaking movie. It was responsible for opening the door to a whole new breed of darker and more gruesome horror films. Many people simply see the gore or the poor film quality and overlook just how original and revolutionary this film was for its time.
